Exotic Lizards for Sale

Exotic lizards for sale through an online reptile store seemed like a just what Ed needed. His gambling had left him broke, and dog fighting had a lot of bad press. He'd decided to try something new, bold, and different: lizard fighting. Under the front of exotic reptiles for sale, he envisioned thousands of dollars waged on fighting Red Iguanas matched up against Black Dragon Water Monitors, Green Anoles pitted against Blue Tailed Skinks, Geckos against Anoles, and Agamids against Chameleons. Lizards pitted against lizards was the perfect idea.

Ed called a couple of his old racetrack buddies to sell them on the idea of a reptile storefront. But it wasn't long before one could see this sale more an exotic comedy of errors. Pete thought they should build a giant terrarium, in which attendees would gather, but some lizards needed a hot and dry desert-like climate, others needed a tropical wet climate, and still other's needed a temperate rain environment. Finally, Howard suggested they have three sections, with a common area in the middle for the lizard fights.

After a few weeks of work, everything was almost ready. The shop was filled with lizards and other reptiles for sale. The back was set up for the lizard fights, a giant terrarium being entered through a door at the back of the store. Pete suggested they could put a sign with a secret code in the front of the store saying, "Reptiles on Sale," to let people know when they'd be having lizard fights at night, so Ed purchased a neon sign. Soon, things were ready to go.

Pete had gone to pick up food while Ed and Howard admitted gambling customers from the front, where the reptiles were sold, into the back room, where the fighting and gambling would be held. As he pulled up outside, Pete thought it looked a little suspicious with all the cars parked at night around a store that sold lizards. The exotic neon sign was all lit up, yet there was no one in the front of the store. Pete walked past the rows of tarantulas, lizards, and other exotic reptiles. When he got to the backroom door, he pounded out a secret knock and the door opened to reveal a wonder to behold.

A glass terrarium with skylights to the stars enclosed the entire area. Three equally spaced sections of bleachers, separated by Plexiglas walls, faced a center area large enough for a few men and a foosball like table, without the bars. The bleachers were filled with lizard memorabilia of every imaginable description. A vendor went from section to section, selling popcorn, beer, and lizard feeder insects. Occasionally, a light mist floated down from the ceiling onto a warm section filled with exotic plants. Another section looked more like a sauna, with infrared lamps illuminating glowing red rock where lizards scurried around. The temperate region also had misters that occasionally came alive, but that whole area was for lizards that needed a cooler environment.
